Hi, I wanted to suggest adding the option to the player dialog box, after announcing retirement, to ask a player if he can reconsider and extend his career by at least one season or more. The player's decision could depend on age, status, salary, etc. Bye

Could be a good feature.

If accepted he stays 1 more season, If not he can be angry with the coach and play worst.

or the next season he have his wage double.

Like a Win-Lose possibility.

I can see something like that implemented in the pre-season. If the player is retiring, one can offer a 20% salary increase to cancel the decision, and have him playing for at least one season more, but paying extra salary as long as he keeps playing.

Hi Yes, the idea of limiting it to the first week could be a good thing, certainly immediately after its announcement. Regarding costs and dynamics, I'm not sure; I'd leave that up to the GMs. It can certainly only be done once to a player.
